What to Expect During Your Consult Call

Consultation Call

To get started, your free 15-minute phone consultation is a chance for us to get to know one another and determine whether we're a good fit. We'll briefly discuss what brings you to therapy, I'll answer any questions you have about the process, and we'll talk about next steps if you decide to move forward. There's no pressure or obligation—it's simply an opportunity to see whether working together feels right.

Preparing for your First Session

Your first therapy session doesn't have to be perfect—and neither do you. There's no need to prepare a script or have everything figured out before we meet. Simply come as you are.

To help you feel comfortable, here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Find a quiet, private space where you feel comfortable talking.

  • Use a computer, tablet, or smartphone with a reliable internet connection.

  • Have a glass of water, tea, tissues, or anything else that helps you feel at ease.

  • If you're a new parent, know that babies are welcome. Feeding, diaper changes, and the occasional interruption are a normal part of life, and there's no expectation for things to be "perfect."

  • If you've written down questions or concerns ahead of time, feel free to bring them—but don't worry if you haven't.

Remember, this is your time. We'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

If your baby needs you during our session, that's okay.

Feeding, soothing, diaper changes, or taking a moment to settle your little one are all welcome here. Therapy is meant to fit into your life—not the other way around.

Starting therapy can bring up a lot of questions and uncertainty. If any of the thoughts below sound familiar, you're not alone.

✔ You're nervous about reaching out.

✔ You've never been to therapy before.

✔ You're not sure exactly how to explain what you're feeling.

✔ You keep telling yourself you "should" be able to handle things on your own.

✔ You wonder if your struggles are "serious enough" for therapy.

✔ You're worried you'll cry during your session.

✔ You don't know where to start.

✔ Part of you feels hopeful, while another part feels unsure.

You don't have to have the right words or all the answers before beginning therapy. Together, we'll create a space where you can slow down, make sense of what you're experiencing, and take things one step at a time.

It’s okay if..

My Commitment to You

I believe therapy works best when you feel safe, respected, and genuinely understood. My goal is to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are—without worrying about being judged, having the "right" answers, or feeling like you need to have everything figured out.

When we work together, you can expect:

  • A warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment.

  • Therapy that is tailored to your unique experiences and goals.

  • Evidence-based strategies paired with genuine human connection.

  • Honest collaboration—we'll work together to determine what feels most helpful for you.

  • Support that honors your strengths while making space for the challenges you're facing.

Whether you're navigating pregnancy, postpartum, young adulthood, or another significant life transition, my hope is that you'll leave each session feeling heard, supported, and better equipped to move forward.
